What you need to know about coal and the Crawford Generating Station
Edison International just announced that they would shut down the Fisk and Crawford coal plants.
This is a great victory for the local Chicago communities of Pilsen and Little Village that fought hard for over 10 years for their right to clean air.
Companies like Edison International need to take responsibility for the communities they poison. Edison still owns many coal-fired power plants across the Midwest. It’s time that they Quit Coal for good.
Tell Edison CEO Ted Craver to become a clean energy leader by retiring Edison’s remaining coal plants and investing in renewable energy projects in the Midwest.
If you'd like to get more involved, there is an organizer working locally to fight this coal plant for Greenpeace.
There are a lot of things in this world that make sense.
That’s to say that we can observe a direct correlation between cause and effect, knowing that doing one thing will at least in theory lead to another thing. When the effect is “good”, we’ll pursue its cause; we’ll likewise avoid it when it’s bad. So for example, you study for better grades and work harder for more money but avoid crashing your car.
